Reconciled to God through the blood of Christ, we are a chosen people, “a holy
nation”, the sheep of God’s Flock. We
are called, as were the Twelve, to go forth and bear witness to the reign of
God.
PLEASE PRAY FOR ALL OF OUR PARISHIONERS who are sick at home, in the hospital or in nursing homes and especially for Linda Sylvester (wife of Dominick Jr.), Irene Valdata, James Cruise, Florence Altiere, Sister Rose Marita Lake, Raffaella Shapiro, Mary Garretson, Theresa Jasinski, Sr. Mary Theresa Leddy, Haley Weber, Yoshiaki Nakata, Adeline Imbriani, Theresa Buckley, Rose Stevenson, Stephen Golasziewski, William Waverka, and Bishop Vincent DePaul Breen.
Let us pray- That
those called to be spiritual shepherds may never shrink from their duty to
proclaim the sacredness of all human life.

At the sight of the crowds, his
heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned,
like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest
is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send
out laborers for his harvest."
Matthew 9:36-38
Jesus’ heart was moved with pity at the sight of the crowds
who he saw as “sheep without a shepherd.”
He then admonished his disciples to “Beg the harvest master to send out
laborers to gather his harvest.” It was
then that he summoned his twelve disciples and sent them forth. Little has changed in the 2000 years
since. We still need shepherds and we
too are the ones called, as were the Twelve, to go forth and bear witness to
the reign of God. Perhaps the Lord is
calling you to do so as a priest, deacon, brother or sister. Contact Father Robert Medley at the

Holy

Congratulations to Father
Dan and Father John on the anniversary of their Priesthood. The Catholic
Community of Our Lady of Mercy Church has been twice blessed with these fine
priests. We pray that their service in Our Lord will last for many years. Our thanks to the Rosary-Altar Society for
initiating the reception and all those other fine people that helped to make it
a very nice time. Thank you all for your kind support and help.
Our Annual Retreat to
San Alfonso the weekend of August 16 - 18, 2002 is a must for all the men of
our parish. Come and join us. The cost is $130.00 for some of the best food,
good companionship, excellent information on our Catholic faith, and a chance
to get away from it all. We have met men that have been going to San Alfonso
for over 30 years. So give Bob a call at 732 356 3975 and make your reservation
now.
As the summer draws near and many of us start to carry out
our plans for vacation remember that our church is still here. Don't make it a
"out of sight out of mind" judgment. Your generosity is still needed
and the cost of operating our church does not take a vacation, so please do not
forget your church.
Blessed be HIS Holy Name

SENILITY
PRAYER God
grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell
the difference.
Now that I'm "older" (but refuse to grow up), here's
what I've discovered:
1) I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it.
2) My wild oats have turned into prunes and All Bran.
3) I finally got my head together; now my body is falling apart.
4) Funny, I don't remember being absent minded...
5) Funny, I don't remember being absent minded...
6) What were we talking about?
7) It's easier to get older than it is to get wiser.
8) Some days you're the dog; some days you're the hydrant.
9) I wish the buck stopped here; I sure could use a few.
10) Kids in the back seat cause accidents. 11) Accidents in the
back seat cause kids.
12) It's hard to make a comeback when you haven't been anywhere.
13) The only time the world beats a path to your door is when
you're in the bathroom.
14) If God wanted me to touch my toes, he would have put them on
my knees.
15) When I'm finally holding all the cards, why does everyone else
decide to play chess?
16) It's not hard to meet expenses... they're everywhere!
17) The only difference between a rut and a grave is the depth.
18) These days, I spend a lot of time thinking about the
hereafter.. I go somewhere to get something and then wonder what I'm here
after.
19) If all is not lost, then where is it?
20) Did I send this to you already?
