The cup we share, is it not the blood of Christ? And the bread we break, is it not his body? Just as God fed the Israelites with manna from heaven, so too do we feed on the best of wheat, the bread of angels, food for the pilgrim journey.

PLEASE PRAY FOR ALL OF OUR PARISHIONERS
who are sick at home, in the hospital or in nursing homes and especially for
Linda Sylvester (wife of Dominick Jr.), Irene Valdata, James Cruise, Florence
Altiere, Sister Rose Marita Lake, Raffaella Shapiro, Mary Garretson, Theresa
Jasinski, Sr. Mary Theresa Leddy, Haley Weber, Yoshiaki Nakata, Adeline
Imbriani, Theresa Buckley, Rose Stevenson, Stephen Golasziewski, William
Waverka, and Bishop Vincent DePaul Breen.
Let us pray- May
we turn in faith to the Lord our God to lead us out of the desolate desert
which the culture of death has created.

"Just as the living Father
sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me
will have life because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven.
Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live
forever." John 6:57-58
That we can collaborate with God is a humbling truth. That God lives among us is an even more
startling reality. The Eucharist is the
body and blood of Christ! We, the
Church, are also the body of Christ!
Our call is to eat and drink the body and blood of Christ. Our vocation is to be that Body of Christ
thus collaborating with him. Perhaps
the Lord is calling you to do so as a priest, deacon, brother or sister. Contact Father Robert Medley at the
Vocations Office 732-562-1990 or e-mail Vocations@diometuchen.org. Or

“Why hasn’t God answered my prayer?”
Ever pray really hard for something and get only silence in return? It probably felt like God didn’t answer. While there’s no magic formula to always get what we want, the Bible tells us that if we trust God, we’ll always get what we need and much of what we want, too (Matthew 6:35-33). But we have to do our part to get results. Strengthen your friendship with God. “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask for whatever you want and it will be done for you” (John 15:7). God wants our friendship all the time, not just when we want something. Daily prayer is key to building that friendship. Come clean. Unconfessed sin creates static in the connection to God. The sacrament of Confession helps clear the line. In Psalm 32, David says that his life was miserable when he avoided responsibility for his sin. As soon as he confessed it, God answered his prayers. Look for it. God’s answer may not be what you were looking for but may be even better. Keep watch for the unexpected. Don’t give up. Jesus promised, “whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” (Mark 11:24) Don’t forget, God has a better sense of timing than we do. He’ll pick the right moment.
