Moses intercedes on behalf of the people who had turned away from the covenant. The Lord delights not in sin, but in our turning back to him, for a contrite and humbled heart God will never spurn. He sent his Son into the world not to condemn sinners, but to save them.
Let Us Pray…That this nation may turn away from the
abomination of abortion.
PLEASE PRAY FOR ALL OF OUR PARISHIONERS who are sick at home, in the hospital or in nursing homes, especially for Consuelo Healy, Bill Fioravant, John Pongratz, Joseph Ballotta, Mary Pokotello, Hudson Savarin, Albert Schraeder, Rose Campanero, Patrick Puppo, John & Eileen Foxwell, Sr. Elinor Foxwell, F.M.M., Haley Weber, Cole Nesmith, James Murray (uncle of Karen Mathews), Warren King (father of Karen Mathews), Vincent Anatele, Rose Stevenson, Blanche Ferarro, Ralph Ley, Teresa Kunz, Betty Connelly, Henry Sarnoski, Josephine Sarnoski, Ray Osborne, Brian Connelly, and Kathleen McGivney.
Please remember in your prayers the repose of the soul of the David Alliprandine, who passed away last week.
Someone is Waiting for You!
How very fortunate we are to have the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament every Thursday from 8:30 AM until 12 noon. We are able to visit with Jesus, one on one, and to tell Him all of our troubles and worries and receive His Loving Peace and Comfort while in His Presence. Won’t you come and visit Him? It could be for 15 minutes, ˝ hour or 1 hour. His Blessings are there for you. Let’s not miss this beautiful Spiritual Opportunity.

Life Chain
Sunday-October 3
This will mark the
14th year that the Diocese of Metuchen will sponsor and participate
in National Life Chain Sunday as a way of expressing our respect for human
life. Life Chain is a peaceful,
prayerful stirring demonstration, giving people of all faiths the opportunity
to unite and make a visible statement in opposition to abortion and other attacks
on human life. Those who participate in
Life Chain spend time in quiet prayer, asking God, the Giver of life, to guide
us in this struggle. Once again Life
Chains will be held in each of the diocese’s four counties from 2-3:30 PM, rain
or shine. Please call 732-562-1990 ext.
1629 for the Life Chair near you.
ATTENTION
PARENTS OF CHILDREN ENROLLED IN THE CCD PROGRAM
If you were unable to attend back to school night on September 9, please see Karen Mathews or Nancy Sayre to pick up a copy of the handout that was given to the parents at the time of the meeting.
Mass attendance cards will be given to the students enrolled in the program on September 19. It is a requirement for the child to attend mass regularly every Sunday and on the Holy Days of Obligation. The card must be signed by either the lector, Priest, Eucharistic Minister or anyone of the teachers participating in the program. If a student cannot attend class, they must contact their teacher to obtain what information was covered, as well as any homework assignments. It is CRITICAL that the parent send in a written excuse with the child when they return to class. Questions can be addressed to either Karen Mathews on 732-271-1750 or Nancy Sayre on 732-873-1453.
Dear parishioner and member, we are a rescheduling our monthly Holy
Name Society meeting. Our monthly
meeting will be held following the normal 2nd Sunday of the month. Communion Sunday down in the church hall. This change eliminates having a meeting on a
weeknight. We hope that this change will encourage new members to come and
former members of the Holy Name Society to rejoin us. We ask that you consider
these recommendations and contact us on any and all suggestions. Felix Reid, President, HNS (732) 469-2335

WORDS TO LIVE BY
Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case
you have to eat them.
The early worm gets eaten by the bird, so sleep late.
You may be only one person in the world, but you may
also be the world to one person.
Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp,
some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different
colors but they all have to learn to live in the same box.
A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery
on a detour.
Happiness comes through doors you didn't even know
you left open.
