Amos cries out against those who exploit the poor for the sake of extortion and greed. They seek to serve only themselves rather than the Lord. By giving ourselves to God rather than to money, we can truly pray with blameless hands for all those in need, especially the poor whom the Lord will raise up.

Someone is Waiting for You!
How very fortunate we are to have the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament every Thursday from 8:30 AM until 12 noon. We are able to visit with Jesus, one on one, and to tell Him all of our troubles and worries and receive His Loving Peace and Comfort while in His Presence. Won’t you come and visit Him? It could be for 15 minutes, ˝ hour or 1 hour. His Blessings are there for you. Let’s not miss this beautiful Spiritual Opportunity.

Sunday-October 3
This will mark the
14th year that the Diocese of Metuchen will sponsor and participate
in National Life Chain Sunday as a way of expressing our respect for human
life. Life Chain is a peaceful,
prayerful stirring demonstration, giving people of all faiths the opportunity
to unite and make a visible statement in opposition to abortion and other
attacks on human life. Those who
participate in Life Chain spend time in quiet prayer, asking God, the Giver of
life, to guide us in this struggle. Once
again Life Chains will be held in each of the diocese’s four counties from
2-3:30 PM, rain or shine. Please call
732-562-1990 ext. 1629 for the Life Chair near you.

The card must be signed by either the lector, Priest, Eucharistic Minister or anyone of the teachers participating in the program. If a student cannot attend class, they must contact their teacher to obtain what information was covered, as well as any homework assignments. It is CRITICAL that the parent send in a written excuse with the child when they return to class. Questions can be addressed to either Karen Mathews on 732-271-1750 or Nancy Sayre on 732-873-1453.

At this time, some
Catholics may feel politically homeless, sensing that no political party and
too few candidates share a consistent concern for human life and dignity. However, this is not a time for retreat or
discouragement. We need more, not less
engagement in political life. We urge
Catholics to become more involved.
USCCB Administrative
Committee
As a parish, we will participate in the Peter’s Pence Collection for the Works of the Holy Father. This collection enables the Holy Father to respond to requests for emergency funds from the most needy throughout the world. The Gospel continually challenges us to lend a helping hand to those in need, to help build a better world with justice for all. This special collection is an opportunity to demonstrate justice as well as kindness to our brothers and sisters in need. Please pray for the Holy Father’s works and contribute generously to the appeal.
