Once again we would like to thank you for the tremendous effort so many of you have shown in keeping your commitment to financially support this parish.  Our income has increased due to the large response from this caring, dedicated community.  I realize this has been a sacrifice for many of you but such a financial commitment is helping us to address the many needs facing our parish today.

Father Herlihy

“Severe illness might erode the sort of dignity others ascribe to a person, but the person’s essential human dignity remains… What seriously ill people are really experiencing is vulnerability and the only proper response to vulnerability is this thing we call love.”  Brother Daniel Sulmasy, Nat’l Catholic Register, 11/21/04, p.2

“The Eucharist~God’s Gift of Love” is the theme of a Retreat Day for Catholic Single women, (ages 16-35) on Saturday, April 9, from 10 am – 2:30 pm.  Sponsored by the Sisters of Jesus Our Hope, the retreat will be held at 514 Church St., Bound Brook, and will include a talk on the topic, quiet time for prayer, sharing Sacred Scripture, and the Rosary.  Participants are asked to bring a brown bag lunch.  Beverages will be provided.  There is no fee.  To register call: 732-271-5777

A very special THANK YOU to each of the wonderful parishioners who took the time to attend or march with me this past Sunday, at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Somerville.  It was a most enjoyable experience!  God Bless you.

Attention All Parishioners

Before you can get a sponsors certificate for Baptism or Confirmation, you must be a registered member of Our Lady of Mercy Church, and you must use the Parish envelopes regularly.  A sponsor’s certificate states that you are a practicing member of the parish-attending mass regularly & receiving the Eucharist frequently.  The priest cannot vouch for you without a record.  The use of your envelopes gives him that assistance.   No one is asking that you put a specific amount in each week.  If you have not yet registered, please do so immediately.  Your actions now will avoid disappointments later.

Thank you, Father Dan
