Jesus, humbling himself out of love for us,
did not shield his face from buffets and spitting, but offered his life on the
cross. He relied on his Father’s love.

Once
again we would like to thank you for the tremendous effort so many of you have
shown in keeping your commitment to financially support this parish. Our income has increased due to the large
response from this caring, dedicated community.
I realize this has been a sacrifice for many of you but such a financial
commitment is helping us to address the many needs facing our parish today.

“Severe illness might erode the sort of dignity others ascribe to a person, but the person’s essential human dignity remains… What seriously ill people are really experiencing is vulnerability and the only proper response to vulnerability is this thing we call love.” Brother Daniel Sulmasy, Nat’l Catholic Register, 11/21/04, p.2

A
very special THANK YOU to each of the wonderful parishioners who took the time
to attend or march with me this past Sunday, at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in
Somerville. It was a most enjoyable
experience! God Bless you.
Attention All
Parishioners
Before you can get a sponsors certificate for Baptism or Confirmation, you must be a registered member of Our Lady of Mercy Church, and you must use the Parish envelopes regularly. A sponsor’s certificate states that you are a practicing member of the parish-attending mass regularly & receiving the Eucharist frequently. The priest cannot vouch for you without a record. The use of your envelopes gives him that assistance. No one is asking that you put a specific amount in each week. If you have not yet registered, please do so immediately. Your actions now will avoid disappointments later.
Thank you,

The glasses and eye care that many of us take for granted is a luxury, which the underprivileged both home and abroad often go without. The Somerset County Office for the Disabled is collecting used or/and outgrown glasses especially children's for distribution to these people who
desperately need them. Please leave your used/outgrown glasses in the baskets at the entrances of the church.
If you have any questions, please contact Mark Malone, the coordinator for the Office of the Disabled at: 908- 704-6334.

IT WAS PALM SUNDAY AND, BECAUSE OF A SORE THROAT, FIVE-YEAR-OLD JOHNNY STAYED HOME FROM CHURCH WITH A SITTER. WHEN THE FAMILY RETURNED HOME, THEY WERE CARRYING SEVERAL PALM BRANCHES.THE BOY ASKED WHAT THEY WERE FOR."PEOPLE HELD THEM OVER JESUS' HEAD AS HE WALKED BY."
"WOULDN'T YOU KNOW IT," THE BOY FUMED,
"THE ONE SUNDAY I DON'T GO, HE SHOWS UP!"
