Seasonal prop

Prop Gl Cr Pf of Eucharist I-II

167: Dt 8:2-3,14b-16a Ps 147:12-15,

19-20 1 Cor 10:16-17 Jn 6:51-58

The cup we share, is it not the blood of Christ? And the bread we break, is it not his body?  Just as God fed the Israelites with manna from heaven, so too do we feed on the best of wheat, the bread of angels, food for the pilgrim journey.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT EMAIL ADDRESS:

A Minneapolis couple decided to go to Florida to thaw out during a particularly icy winter. They planned to stay at the same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier.  Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their arrival times. So the husband left Minnesota and flew to Florida on Thursday, with his wife flying down the following day.

The husband checked into the hotel. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an email to his wife. However, he accidentally left out one letter in her email address and without realizing his error, sent the email.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned home from her husband's funeral. He was a minister who was called home to glory following a heart attack.

The widow decided to check her email expecting messages from relatives and friends. After reading the first message, she screamed and fainted. The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read:

To: My Loving Wife

Subject: I've Arrived

Date: October 16, 2004

I know you're surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now and you are allowed to send emails to your loved ones. I've just arrived and have been checked in. I see that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then. Hope your journey is an uneventful as mine was.

P.S. Sure is freaking hot down here!

Have you ever received something wonderful that you didn't even ask for, like money in the mail, a debt that had mysteriously been cleared, or a coupon to a department store where you had just seen something you needed, but couldn't afford? THAT'S GOD knowing the desires of your heart.

The Catholic Communication Campaign reminds us of the power of the media to touch and change people’s hearts and minds and the Church needs the CCC to continue doing this with the Good News and it works diligently to inspire, entertain and inform – to make the Good News a part of our lives.  This year’s summer collection is for the benefit of the Catholic Communications Campaign and the Catholic University of America.
