This Youth Services mentoring program is an adult-to-child
match program, serving the youth of
The children and youth in the Connections program are up to
age 17 who:
- would respond to a genuine relationship with a committed
adult "friend".
- are finding themselves in serious situational/loss crisis
(i.e. divorce, parent dying/recently deceased)
-are in need of a helpful adult relationship.
- do not have many social circles available to them.
Volunteers may be any individual 18 years of age or older,
of any ethic or religious background,
who are interested in making a positive impact on a child's
life.

REMEMBER WHEN…
You got your windshield cleaned, oil checked,
and gas pumped, without asking, all for free, every time? And you didn't pay
for air? And, you got trading stamps to boot?
They threatened to keep kids back a grade if
they failed. . and they did?
No one ever asked where the car keys were
because they were always in the car, in the ignition, and the doors were never
locked?

Our parents and grandparents were a much
bigger threat! But we survived because their love was greater than the threat.

RENEW offers us both a wonderful opportunity and a great challenge. We have a great need to get in touch with the spiritual aspects of our lives, yet our days have become busier than ever. We have pressures at work, downsizing in corporations, economic struggles - needing to limited time for family concerns and leisure activities.
RENEW is coming to Our Lady of Mercy in October, 2005. Plan on attending.
