Mary, Mother of God – January 1, 2006

The first reading today recalls God’s special blessing upon the Israelites. The Lord has been gracious to us as well, pouring into our hearts that spirit which knows Him as Father and makes us His children. May we, like Mary, treasure these things in our hearts and live gratefully!

SAVE THE DATE - 2006 Stewardship Symposium

Saturday, February 25, 2006 (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM) Details to be announced soon.

Girls Scout Troop 245 would like to thank each and every one of you for a very successful collection of donations for the young victims of Hurricane Katrina.  We filled up our van and off it went.  We arrived at the site in Perth Amboy on a Saturday, and we were met by 2 women that directed us as to where to unload.  The room was full of many other donations, and they let us know how thankful all of the people are for all of the work involved in getting this started up for other scouts and younger children.  They were impressed on how much we had collected for such a small troop of 5.  We told them it was all the giving people of our parish and God that made this wonderful event happen.  Again we thank you all for your generosity.

Sincerely, Girl Scout Troop 245- Lori, Joanie, Amy, Samantha, Ariel, Hannah & Kailin.

Speak Up…We’re Listening Sessions

A key feature of the synod process involves gathering input from the People of God throughout the Diocese of Metuchen. The Speak Up Sessions are opportunities for everyone in the Diocese of Metuchen to express their interests, concerns, and hopes for the future of our diocese. This part of the synod process involves collecting the input that will lead to synod topics.

After another round of input is collected during Phase II, a list of proposed topics will go to the bishop for his approval. Ultimately, six topical areas will be reviewed and discussed during synod sessions.

Speak Up…We’re Listening Sessions will be held at parishes throughout the diocese during January and February 2006. Be heard by attending a session at your own parish or one near you!
