Pss III Seasonal prop - Prop Gl Cr Sun Pf I-VIII

68: Jon 3:1-5,10 Ps 25:4-9 1 Cor 7:29-31 Mk 1:14-20

The Ninevites heard the preaching of Jonah & repented of their evil ways, thus experiencing the Lord’s compassion.  Do we repent when we hear the preaching of Jesus?  Do we invest our lives in the world rather than in God’s kingdom?

Third Sunday in Ordinary Time – January 22, 2006

There is a certain urgency in today’s Gospel as Jesus calls His first disciples — Andrew and Simon, James and John. Each one follows Jesus immediately, unhesitatingly abandoning nets and boats and father and fellow-workers. To what is Jesus calling me — at this moment, in these circumstances? What will I need to abandon in order to follow Him?

HOLY NAME SOCIETY NEWS

Dear friends and fellow parishioners The Annual Father and Son Communion Breakfast will take place on Sunday, March 12, 2006. Mass will be at 8:00 AM with the breakfast to follow downstairs in the church hall. We hope to have a guest speaker soon and will announce the name of the person as soon as possible. This breakfast has been a special event for our society for over 50 years. So dad, talk to your sons. Tell them about the good food prepared by the Rosary-Altar Society. The meeting of old friends that you haven't seen for a while. Invite your son's Godfather, the sponsor for his Confirmation. Come break bread with your loved ones. Come and say " hello" to our Lord at Mass. Ask Uncle Joe, invite an old friend, and don't forget your Son-in-law who is raising your grandson. Make this a special Father and Son Communion Breakfast. I'm sure that Our Father in heaven will be happy that you came.

Blessed Be HIS Holy Name
