THIRTY-SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Pss IV Seasonal prop

Prop Gl Cr Sun Pf I-VIII

155: 1 Kgs 17:10-16  Ps 146:7-10

Heb 9:24-28  Mk 12:38-44 or 12:41-44

The Lord provides (Ps) for Elijah’s need as the widow of Zarephath shares with him from her want (1). Her generosity is mirrored in the widow in the temple who gives from her poverty and not from power, privilege or excess (3). In Jesus, God became poor for us, offering himself to take away our sins (2).

Stewardship

Both widows in today’s readings gave all they had to the work of the Lord, one using all her remaining food to feed Elijah and the other offering her two copper coins to the temple treasury. Faithful stewards give all that is asked and trust the Lord to faithful to His promises.

PLEASE PRAY FOR ALL OF OUR PARISHIONERS who are sick at home, in the hospital or in nursing homes, especially for John Vanderhoff, Tony Gangitano, Frank Kozden, , David King, Mary Pokotello, John & Peter Foxwell, Haley Weber, Frank Stashak, Blanche Ferarro, Kalman Sipos, Josephine Sarnoski, and Diane Manley. Our Lady of Mercy

Our Lady of Mercy’s goal is $27,800.00. The number of families participating so far is 129 or 23.33% of our parishioners. They have pledged a total of $20, 820.00. To look at it in another way…23.33% of our parish has pledged 74.89% or our goal. To reach our goal, we need another $6,980.00. We have 76.67% of our parish who have not participated. If every parishioner who had not yet participated would give $25.00, we would surpass our goal for this year.
