Stewardship

Our Lady of Mercy’s Stewardship Renewal Initiative is coming to a close.  We would like to commend all parishioners for their concern for our parish.  If you have not yet returned your commitment envelope, please do so at the first opportunity.

Fifth Sunday of Lent – April 2, 2006“ If anyone would serve me,” says Jesus in today’s Gospel, “let him follow me; where I am, there will my servant be.” In what way is Jesus inviting me to follow Him? What service is He asking of me?

Stewardship for Beginners

Save the Date:  Saturday, April 22, 2006  (9:00 AM - Noon)

Is your parish just beginning a stewardship initiative or perhaps you are still in the “just thinking about it” stage.  This special workshop, geared for parishes new to stewardship, is a condensed version of three previous Stewardship Gatherings.  We will cover:  Conducting a Stewardship Commitment Campaign (including information on Ministry Expos), Lay Witnessing, and Time & Talent Follow-up.  Comprehensive, practical materials will be distributed.

There is no fee but we ask that you pre-register by contacting the Office of Stewardship by phone at 732-562-2432 or e-mail smantarro@diometuchen.org.

Thoughts on Stewardship

Don’t Just Sit There

The inimitable Will Rogers once observed:  “Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.”  When it comes to stewardship, complacency is not acceptable.

Root of All Evil?

St. Paul is often misquoted as saying “Money is the root of all evil.”  He said no such thing.  Money helps feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and build homeless shelters, schools and churches.

Take the Initiative

Do we ever take the initiative in giving our time, talent and treasure, or do we always wait to be asked?
