Saul witnesses the risen Jesus and boldly proclaims his Lordship. We proclaim our belief in Jesus by our love for one another. He is the vine and we the branches. Together let us praise his name in our assembly of worship.

DIOCESAN NEWS

The Synod Process Continues

Phase II: Generating Ideas

Phase II is different and distinct from Phase I. During Phase II, you will choose the topic(s) that are most important to you and then generate ideas that address specific questions chosen by Bishop Bootkoski based on input from Phase I. Your ideas will help shape what delegates discuss during synod sessions this autumn.

Check the synod website for the dates, times, and locations of Phase II sessions about Education; Parish Life; Personnel in Ministry; Social Justice; Unity; and Worship & Spirituality. Questions and background information about each topical area are available in advance at www.diometuchen.org/synod OR in The Catholic Spirit OR by calling the Synod Secretariat at 732-562-2454.

Phase II sessions are being held throughout the Diocese between May 3 and June 17.  Your pre-registration will help us plan!

www.diometuchen.org/synod

Last February, each parish hosted a Speak Up Session in preparation for the upcoming Diocesan Synod.  In the accompanying Bulletin insert you will find the topics, locations, dates and times for the second Sessions.  Please select the session(s) that most interest you and mail your choice(s) directly to the Diocese. Thank you.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

We are most fortunate to have Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament every Thursday morning. We have the great opportunity to visit with Jesus in a most personal way. Every Thursday from 8:30 till Noon. Please come and visit Jesus very soon. ”Don't miss the opportunity of visiting with Jesus, for 15 minutes, a half hour or an hour. You will find many blessings coming your way. We are in need of more people to sign up and commit to an hour or half hour each week. If you are able to do so, please contact Rita at 732-469-2874.

A CALL TO ACTION IN SUPORT OR MARRIAGE

The Catholic Bishops of New Jersey are urging all Catholics to join in a state-wide postcard campaign on May 20-21 in support of the proposed federal constitutional amendment (S.J. RES.1) scheduled to move in the Senate the first week of June.  This amendment states clearly that the natural institution of marriage has been, is and always must be, a union between man and woman.

As Catholics, we believe that the natural institution of marriage has been blessed and elevated by Christ to the dignity of a sacrament.  We have the opportunity to make not only the strongest possible statement about the sanctity of marriage as God intended it, but also to demonstrate our strength as people of faith and faithful citizens.  Help us make this campaign for the Protection of Marriage Amendment a success.  Please plan to participate in this important event.

Thought that you might like to know more about this well-known WD-40 product. Try it on your stovetop... Viola! It's now shinier than it's ever been. You'll be amazed.  The product began from a search for a rust preventative solvent and degreaser to protect missile parts. WD-40 was created in 1953 by three technicians at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company. Its name comes from the project that was to find a “Water Displacement" compound.
