Sixth Sunday of Easter – May 21, 2006

Phase II Speak Up Sessions: Generating Ideas

Phase II sessions began on May 3 and are being held until June 17 throughout our Diocese. Come generate ideas!!  The Phase II process allows ideas to emerge and be discussed in a small group. Phase II is different and distinct. Your input is important!  What will you discuss? Questions our Bishop has chosen for careful consideration. The synod website (www.diometuchen.org/synod) has copies of:

  • the key questions for discussion under six topical areas.
  • information about the Catholic context for asking these questions.
  • programs and services already provided by the Diocese of Metuchen.

Check the synod website for dates, times, and locations of Phase II sessions on Education; Parish Life; Personnel in Ministry; Social Justice; Unity; and Worship & Spirituality. Quick and easy registration is available online or by calling the Synod Secretariat: 732-562-2454.

Your ideas will help shape what delegates focus on during synod sessions.

Your pre-registration will help us plan!

Stewardship of Treasure

Stewardship of treasure is based on giving a percentage of our income that is just.  If we have little income, we will give little.  If we have greater income, we will give more.  Whether we are poor or rich, we can each give a percentage of our income to church and other charities.

Develop your talents to the fullest

so that you can use them

to benefit

your church and community.

Your abilities will grow with use;  unused, they may wither away.

Let not your hand be open to receive

and clenched when it is time to give.
