Joshua confronts the tribes of Israel: Will you desert your covenant with Yahweh? The desertion of disciples is a prelude to the paschal mystery. With Peter, however, let us profess our faith in the Lord, who gave himself up for us all.

HOLY NAME SOCIETY NEWS

As September and Labor Day rapidly approaches our thoughts start to return to our everyday lives. The youngsters starting school for the first time, the start of high school and perhaps college for the older children. And of course returning to our lovely church. The Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Mercy Church welcomes all our friends and fellow parishioners back to the fold. We are happy to announce that 11 men, parishioners, and friends, attended the Annual Retreat at the San Alfonso Retreat House weekend retreat in West Long Branch, NJ. It was a refreshing and religious time away from the cares and worries of the everyday happenings. Our society extends our best wishes to the new officers of The Rosary-Altar Society and prays that their tenure will be a successful one. To those of our friends and parishioners that have been ill and those that have been called to our Heavenly Father we pray that Our Lady of Mercy will guide them in their journey to recovery and to the faithful departed to their final resting place in heaven. Amen. Thank you.

Blessed Be HIS Holy Name
