A Round of Applause for…

Diane Mosko

Diane Mosko single handedly ran Our Lady of Mercy’s Gertrude Hawk’s Christmas Candy campaign raising $550 for the Church. Taking the orders, collecting the money, ordering the candy and making sure it all came in so no one was left wanting for candy at Christmastime. Thank you Diane. Bravo!

Foundation for Catholic Education Collection

January 26 & 27, 2008

Next weekend the Diocesan “Foundation for Catholic Education” collection will be taken up at all Masses. The Foundation for Catholic Education is an endowment fund which provides tuition assistance grants to families. Through the generous support of parishioners, the Diocese was able to increase the funding provided for tuition assistance for the 2007-2008 school year with $734,000 in grants awarded to 671 recipients. Although this amount represents a substantial amount of money, it covers less that 29% of the $2.5 million of financial need of the more than 900 students that applied. We need your support and the support of all parishes to keep Catholic education within reach for many of our school families.

We will have 2 “Sign Up Sundays” in January and a “kick off” mass at 7pm on Thursday, January 31st in the Church Hall. Season Five will begin the week of February 3rd. Keep listening for further details.
