The people of Samaria come to worship the Lord (Ps) and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (1). It is this same Spirit that leads us into the truth (3). In the body, Jesus was put to death; in the Spirit, he was raised to life (2). We are called to this same glory.

Stewardship

Those who obey the commandments, Jesus says in today’s Gospel, are the ones who really love Him.  Does my stewardship reveal my love for Jesus?

Immaculata's Annual Garage Sale

Immaculata's Campus Ministry Office will host it’s annual Garage Sale at the high school ( 240 Mountain Ave., Somerville) on Friday, May 2 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Saturday, May 3 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Household items, bikes, electronics, furniture, toys, clothes, outdoor equipment, linens, and baby items are available.  Prices are incredibly low. This exhibition explores the social and political history of the diverse group of people who established the formidable Catholic presence in New York. The exhibition, the first of its kind, traces Catholics’ growth from a tiny religious minority to a powerful force in the city and shows how, by organizing to build their own communities, institutions and political organizations, Catholics reshaped the fabric of life in all five boroughs. Special Diocesan Collection April 26th & 27th

The second collection on April 26th & 27th will be for the Diocese to support their “Aid to the Church in Central & Easter Europe” campaign.

The Catholic Church in Central and Eastern Europe is working in 28 countries to build the pastoral capacity of the Church. Our contributions will help build parishes; support seminaries, social service programs, youth ministry, pastoral centers, church construction and spreading of the Gospel in many distant and unknown places in Central and Eastern Europe.

Church Women United

May 2nd, 12 Noon  Church Women United will have a Cold Covered Dish Luncheon on Friday, May 2nd at 12 Noon. The ladies will meet at Our Lady of Mercy Church Hall (please use the left side entrance at the back of the church).

Each person attending is asked to bring a cold covered dish - beverage and dessert will be provided by the ladies of the Rosary Altar Society.

Do It All Basketball Camp

Holy Family Academy will be hosting a summer basketball camp. This camp will not only teach defensive and offensive basketball skills, but also life skills beyond the court. Children entering 6th – 8th grades, camp will be held the week of July 21. Children entering 3rd – 5th grades, camp will be held the week of August 4. Space is limited! Women’s Breakfast

May 18th, 9:30 AM  The Our Lady of Mercy Rosary Altar Society will have their Annual Women’s Breakfast on

May 18th, 9:30 AM  at the Somerset Holiday Inn on Davidson Avenue

The price this year is $18 for Adults and $12 for Children 10 years and younger. All ladies and young ladies of the parish are encouraged to attend. Tickets may be purchased after all Masses on April 26 & 27, May 3 & 4 and

May 10 & 11. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Fund Raising with Shop Rite

The Rosary Altar Society is trying a new venue at fund raising by selling Shop Rite grocery store gift cards. They will come in denominations of $5, $10 and $25 and can be used to buy almost anything at Shop Rite at any Shop Rite of your choice. We need to sell over $1000 worth of cards to see any profit. Patriot Baseball Game

The Holy Name Society is sponsoring a Patriots vs. the Bridgeport Bluefish Baseball Game Gathering on June 21st at 7 pm. The cost is $ 8.00 per person. You may reserve your tickets by calling Keith Fasanella at 732-356-5780 or by filling out the Patriots Game Form found at each exit door and returning the completed form and payment in the collection basket during any mass. The last day to reserve tickets is Sunday, May 18th.
