All of us have been baptized into one and the same Spirit (2). That same Spirit, the Advocate, was given as gift to the disciples (1) to strengthen them to go forth in the name of the Lord (3), “to renew the face of the earth” (Ps).

Stewardship

In the second reading today, St. Paul reminds the Corinthians, “There are different gifts, but the same Spirit; there are different ministries, but the same Lord.”  How am I using my gifts for the common good?  (See 1 Corinthians 12:4)

Memorial Day Mass At Diocesan Cemeteries

Most Rev. Paul G. Bootkoski will be the celebrant of the annual Memorial Day Mass on May 26th at 10:00 AM on the grounds of Holy Cross Burial Park, Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. At the same time, Bishop Emeritus Edward T. Hughes will be the celebrant of the Memorial Day Mass on the grounds of Resurrection Burial Park, Hoes Lane, Piscataway.

All the faithful are invited to participate at either site and are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for comfort. In the even of inclement weather, the Mass will be celebrated inside the Mausoleum Chapel located at each site. For more info, please contact the Cemetery Office (732) 562-2408.

Charismatic Healing Mass

May 14th 7:30 p.m.  A Charismatic Healing Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, 7:30 p.m. at St. Bernadette Church, corner of Princeton and Villanova Roads, Parlin.  Rev. John Campoli, Director of His Love Ministries, will be the Presider.  Praise and Worship begins at 7:00 p.m.

Our Lady of Fatima Procession

May 18th The Fatima Procession Committee of Our Lady of Fatima Church, located at 501 New Market Road in Piscataway, invites you to join us on Sunday evening, May 18th as we honor Our Lady of Fatima with our seventh Candlelight Procession. We will gather at 7:00 PM outside of the church. The procession will begin at 7:30 PM. The program in the church will include a homily, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Benediction and the traditional Fatima Farewell. Rosary Altar Society News

Women’s Breakfast

May 18th, 9:30 AM  The Our Lady of Mercy Rosary Altar Society will have their Annual Women’s Breakfast on

May 18th, 9:30 AM  at the Somerset Holiday Inn on Davidson Avenue

The price this year is $18 for Adults and $12 for Children 10 years and younger. All ladies and young ladies of the parish are encouraged to attend. Tickets may be purchased after all Masses on May 10 & 11. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Patriot Baseball Game

June 21st  The Holy Name Society is sponsoring a Patriots vs. the Bridgeport Bluefish Baseball Game Gathering on June 21st at 7 pm. The cost is $ 8.00 per person. You may reserve your tickets by calling Keith Fasanella at 732-356-5780 or by filling out the Patriots Game Form found at each exit door and returning the completed form and payment in the collection basket during any Mass. The last day to reserve tickets is Sunday, May 18th.

2008 Spring Prize Raffle

We ask all of our parishioners to pitch in to make this Prize Raffle a successful venture. If you would like to purchase any amount of  $2.00 tickets, please see an HNS member or you can see the parish secretary Tues. thru Friday, 1-4 pm who will happily sell you as many tickets as you want.

 

All the proceeds received from this endeavor will be used for the general up-keep and activities of Our Lady Of Mercy Church. 

 

The Spring Prize Raffle is set up in the following manner:

There will be three winners

·         The First Place Winner will win a 32” Vizio Flat Panel LCD HD Television.

·         The Second Place Winner will win a Canon 8.0 Megapixel Digital Camera.

·         The Third Place Winner will win an Apple 4GB iPod Nano.

-No substitute of offered prizes may be given.

-The returns should be placed in an envelope, then deposited into the collection basket at Mass or returned to the Rectory before 6:30 PM on Saturday, May 17, 2008.

-The drawing will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at approximately 6:45 PM in the Church Hall.
