All nations are invited to sing the Lord’s praises for they have been called to hear the good news and worship the long awaited Messiah and King with the gift of their lives.

Stewardship

The three wise men who came from the East to pay homage to the infant Jesus brought Him rich gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh as part of their worship. What gifts have I brought to this celebration to offer to the newborn Savior?

Did You Wrap Your Gift?

Would you give a gift to a friend and not wrap it?  Would you take a present to a party and not put your name on it?  Please treat your weekly gift to God with the care and respect you would any gift that you give. Wrap it in an envelope and put your name on it.  It will make you feel so much better about that gift.  Try it some Sunday and see if it doesn’t make you feel a little prouder of your gift.

If you need parish envelopes, please call the parish office at (732) 356-1037 or visit www.olmsbb.org for an online form and drop it in the collection basket or fill out the below info and drop it in the collection basket.

Facilitating Deeper Faith Sharing

January 14, 7:30 – 9:30 PM  Immaculate Conception Parish Center, 35 Mountain Ave., Somerville, NJ in the St. Anne’s Room.

Many parishes have ongoing small groups that meet regularly to pray together, read Scripture, share faith and discuss what is happening in their lives and in the world around them. Sister Eileen Smith, co-director of Mount Saint Mary House of Prayer, has had many years experience in Spiritual Direction. She will offer us, in the workshop, tools for the small faith sharing group facilitator to help move the group participants to a deeper faith sharing.

Truths

Adults have learned

1)   Raising teenagers is like nailing jelly to a tree.

2)   Wrinkles don't hurt.

3)   Families are like fudge..mostly sweet, with a few nuts.

4)   Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.

5)   Laughing is good exercise. It's like jogging on the inside.

6)   Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fiber, not the toy.

Truths

About Getting Old

1)   Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional.

2)   Forget the health food. I need all the preservatives I can get.

3)   When you fall down, you wonder what else you can do while you're down there.

4)   You're getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair that you once got from a roller coaster.

5)   It's frustrating when you know all the answers but nobody bothers to ask you the questions.

6)   Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician.

7)   Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone.
