Stewardship

Today’s second reading reminds us that the sacrifice of Christ frees us from sin and makes us a royal nation of priests in the service of God. How am I using my gifts to serve God and others?

PLEASE PRAY FOR ALL OF OUR PARISHIONERS

For those who are ill, especially: James Esposito, Beverly Turok and Josephine Sarnoski that their suffering and trials may become sources of grace for themselves and others.

Let us join in prayer as Ada Lemli, Marjorie Kemp and Leo Quinlan are welcomed back into the loving embrace of our Heavenly Father.

Food Collection Boxes

We want to thank the members of our parish for their generosity with the food collection that was started in May of this year. We have provided over 60 bags to the less fortunate. As we said when we began the collections, we should all understand our calling as Catholics to share our abundance with the truly needy, for someday we will meet the Lord and ask, “Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you?” He will reply, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”

Please look for the food collection boxes in the church vestibule and the two entrances by the altar. Regular donations of foods with a long shelf life will be appreciated. A list of suggested items is posted above the donation boxes for your reference.

Thank you very much for your continued donations as they will be appreciated by someone who might otherwise go hungry tonight.

Christmas 2009 for Kentucky

The Kentucky Giving Tree will is up in the vestibule of the church. As you know, we provide gift cards and gifts to our less fortunate friends in Appalachia.

Please, all gifts for Appalachia need to be returned by November 29th. Please do not wrap the gift and also please stick the giving tree tag on the gift you bring.

A Message from Appalachia

Times are hard. We didn’t have jobs to begin with, but many that we had have disappeared. Stores have closed and 2 small manufacturing plants have shut down operations.

All of the names on our Christmas list come from our Baby Pantry. At the pantry, parents can get diapers, clothes, food, formula, blankets and other baby needs.

Thank you for blessing these children with a special Christmas gift. It is a gift not only for the little ones, but for the parents as well. Your love and care really means a lot!!!

May God bless you this Christmas.
