Stewardship

Both widows in today’s readings gave all they had to the work of the Lord, one using all her remaining food to feed Elijah and the other offering her two copper coins to the temple treasury. Faithful stewards give all that is asked and trust the Lord to be faithful to His promises.

PLEASE PRAY FOR ALL OF OUR PARISHIONERS

For those who are ill, especially: James Esposito, Beverly Turok and Josephine Sarnoski that their suffering and trials may become sources of grace for themselves and others.

God Bless

2009 Bishop’s Annual Appeal

Because We Are Church

Many people are feeling the impact of these trying economic times.  Yet, Christian stewardship invites us to trust…to take a risk…to share what we have with others in the confidence that our heavenly Father will provide us with all that we truly need.  It is in this spirit that you are invited to make a sacrificial gift to help our Church meet the many pastoral, educational and charitable needs in our communities – needs that are even greater in these challenging times.  Thank you for your prayerful consideration.

“It’s not enough to merely exist.  It’s not enough to say, ‘I’m earning enough to live and support my family.  I do my work well, I’m a good parent.’  That’s all very well, but you must do something more, something for your fellow man…For, remember, you don’t live in a world all your own.  Your brothers are here, too.”  - Albert Schweitzer
