Saul witnesses the risen Jesus and boldly proclaims his Lordship. We proclaim our belief in Jesus by our love for one another. He is the vine and we the branches. Together let us praise his name in our assembly of worship.

Stewardship

The good steward lives the advice of St. John, loving in deed and in truth, rather than just talking about it.

PLEASE PRAY FOR ALL OF OUR PARISHIONERS

For those who are ill, especially:  Marion Mraz,

Beverly Turok, Josephine Sarnoski, Elizabeth Connelly, Genevieve Casey, Peter Yazgier, Keith Bloomer,

Terri Mahoney and Cathleen DeLorenzo

that their suffering and trials may become sources of grace for themselves and others.

“To everyone there comes that special moment when we are figuratively tapped on the shoulder and offered a chance to do a very special thing – unique to us and fitted to our own talents.  What a tragedy if that moment finds us unprepared or unqualified for the work that could be our finest hour.”                                          - Winston Churchill

If You Think You Have the Swine Flu…

From the Bishop

In light of the recent health concerns that have arisen about the potential spread of “swine flu”, it is important to recall Bishop Bootkoski’s previous instruction about liturgical practices and the risk of contagion at Mass.

If you are sick (and this holds true at all times, not just flu season) you should refrain from drinking the Precious Blood from the chalice, receiving the Body of Christ on the tongue and exchanging the Sign of Peace by shaking hands. It is the responsibility of the individual to make this judgment. These practices should never be suspended unilaterally by the priest celebrant or across the board for an entire parish. Of course the wisest course of action, out of consideration for our fellow parishioners, is to STAY HOME when we are sick

In the event that an epidemic is declared by the health officials responsible for making such a decision, the Bishop will judge which liturgical practices should be suspended throughout the Diocese and issue instructions accordingly.

Eucharistic Holy Hour

May 22, 7:00 PM Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords, NJ   Bishop Paul Bootkoski will preside at a Eucharistic Holy Hour for three special intentions. They are:

·         For Keith Cervine, Edmund Luciano, III and Matthew Paratore who will be ordained priests on the following day, that Jesus will bestow His abundant graces upon them as they respond to His call and begin their ministry.

·         For the Sanctification of Priests of our Diocesan Church – that each of them will continue to be renewed daily in the grace of their ordination as they labor in the vineyard of the Lord.

·         That the inviting voice of Jesus will be heard by men and women amidst the various “voices of our days”, and that they will joyfully and courageously respond to His invitation to serve as priests, religious and deacons.
