All of us have been baptized into one and the same Spirit; let us live, then, by the Spirit! That same Spirit, the Advocate, who “renews the face of the earth”, was given as gift to the disciples to strengthen them to go forth in the name of the Lord, and to obtain forgiveness of sins.

Stewardship

St. Paul reminds us today that all of our gifts have their source in the Holy Spirit and that those gifts are given “for the common good.” What gifts are mine to share?

PLEASE PRAY FOR ALL OF OUR PARISHIONERS

For those who are ill, especially: Flo Gonda, Marion Mraz,

Beverly Turok, Elizabeth Connelly, Peter Yazgier, Josephine Sarnoski, Keith Bloomer, Terri Mahoney and Cathleen DeLorenzo

that their suffering and trials may become sources of grace for themselves and others.

Crutch Drive

The Knights of Columbus Council #5959 in Martinsville, NJ is asking for a charitable donation of used crutches for an Army Special Forces Medical Unit deploying to Southern Afghanistan in July 2009. Our connection to this unit is that one of the doctors is the son of a council member. They have requested that we supply 500 sets of crutches. The crutches will be distributed to Afghani citizens injured from conflicts in Afghanistan.

Please bring crutches:

  • To any Mass on June 6 & June 7
  • Use the two back entrances to the church
  • Place the crutches under the stairwells at either entrance
  • Please pile them up out of the way of any foot traffic coming into or out of the churchwe don’t want anyone from the parish having to borrow any of those crutches!!

Food Collection Boxes

As our economic problems deepen, food banks in our area are becoming overwhelmed. As Catholics, we understand the calling to share our abundance with the truly needy, for someday we will meet the Lord and ask, “Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you?” He will reply, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”

We have started a food collection box in the church vestibule. Regular donations of foods with a long shelf life will be appreciated. A list of suggested items will be posted above the donation boxes for your reference.

Thank you very much for your donations as they will be appreciated by someone who might otherwise go hungry tonight.
