The prophet hears what God proclaims (Ps) and is called to speak in God’s name (1). The Twelve hear the message of Jesus and are sent forth to preach the good news (3). In him have we been chosen to be full of love (2).

STEWARDSHIP

Today’s readings are about being chosen and sent. The prophet Amos was chosen by the Lord and sent to use his talents for the people of God. The Gospel recounts the story of the sending of the twelve. In the second reading, St. Paul reminds us that we, too, are chosen. For what have I been chosen? To whom have I been sent?

PLEASE PRAY FOR ALL OF OUR PARISHIONERS

For those who are ill, especially: Flo Gonda,

Beverly Turok, Peter Yazgier, Josephine Sarnoski,

Keith Bloomer, Terri Mahoney, Irene Corrigan, Joan McArdle, Frank Dzierzanowski, Joann Garzo

and Edna Poole

that their suffering and trials may become sources of grace for themselves and others.

STEWARDSHIP

My church is composed of people like me.

I help make it what it is.

It will be friendly, if I am.

Its pews will be filled, if I help fill them.

It will do great work, if I work.

It will make generous gifts to many causes, if I am a generous giver.

It will bring other people into its worship and fellowship, if I invite and bring them.

It will be a church of loyalty and love,

 of fearlessness and faith,

and a church with a noble spirit,

if I, who make it what it is,

am filled with these same things.

Therefore, with the help of God,

I shall dedicate myself to the task

of being all the things

that I want my church to be.

The Twelve Promises

of the Sacred Heart

As given by Our Lord to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque

1. I will give them all the graces necessary for their state of life.

2. I will give peace in their families.

3. I will console them in all their troubles.

4. They shall find in My Heart an assured refuge during life and especially at the hour of death.

5. I will pour abundant blessings on all their undertakings.

6. Sinners shall find in My Heart the source and infinite ocean of mercy.

7. Tepid souls shall become fervent.

8. Fervent souls shall speedily rise to great perfection.

9. I will bless the homes in which the image of My Sacred Heart shall be exposed and honored.

10. I will give to priests the power to touch the most hardened hearts.

11. Those who propagate this devotion shall have their name written in My Heart, and it shall never be effaced.

12. I promise thee in the excess of the mercy of My Heart, that its all-powerful Love will grant to all those who shall receive Communion on the First Friday of Nine consecutive months the grace of final repentance; they shall not die under My displeasure, nor without receiving the Sacraments; My Heart shall be their assured refuge at that last hour.
