             Phil 4:12-14, 19-20  Mt 22:1-14 or 22:1-10

The Lord invites us to a banquet, one of the favorite images of messianic times. This banquet is spread before us and can fully satisfy our needs, yet how often have we refused the Lord’s invitation to share in the riches prepared for us?

Stewardship

In today’s second reading, St. Paul thanks the Philippians for being willing to share in his hardships and promises that God, in turn, will fully supply all their needs. Our God truly

cannot be outdone in generosity!

PLEASE PRAY FOR ALL OF OUR PARISHIONERS

For those who are ill, especially:  Josephine Sarnoski, Blanche Ferraro, Elizabeth Connelly, Genevieve Casey and Peter Yazgier.

World Mission Sunday, organized by the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, is a day set aside for Catholics worldwide to recommit themselves to the Church's missionary activity through prayer and sacrifice.

World Mission Sunday is "an important day in the life of the Church because it teaches how to give: as an offering made to God, in the Eucharistic celebration and for all the missions of the world" (see Redemptoris Missio 81).

The offerings that will be collected [on World Mission Sunday] are destined for a common fund of solidarity distributed, in the Pope's name, by the Society for the Propagation of the Faith among the missions and missionaries of the entire world. Please be as generous as your means allow.

Youth Group News

Thank You, Thank You to all of the generous parishioners that have donated items to the Ronald MacDonald House.  The Youth Group is planning a visit the first or second weekend in October and will deliver all the donated items.

The Youth Group is looking for donated items for their room.  We just recently removed the ping pong table that was there for many years since the wood rotted away and the legs were unstable.  Perhaps your children have grown and you have a ping pong table or other table top game that is taking up space in your house.  We would be happy to take it off your hands.  We are also looking for board games and a VCR.  Call Nora Lyons if you have something to donate at 732-563-9459.

The Youth Group is looking for new members to join us on Sunday evenings at 7.p.m.

Attention Parents & Children

Due to the destructive behavior by some unsupervised children using the church bathrooms, any children having to use the bathrooms MUST be escorted by an adult.
