The Lord is king and there is no other. We are to render to God, therefore, fitting praise and service, as is God’s due. God’s word to us, in turn, is a matter of power and strength, to be lived with conviction of heart.

Stewardship

The bishops’ pastoral letter on stewardship reminds us, “Jesus not only calls people to him but also forms them and sends them out in his service. Being sent on a mission is a consequence of being a disciple.”

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month

What is Domestic Violence?

Domestic Violence is a pattern of intimidation, coercion, and violence that is used to achieve power and control over a partner.  Over time, this pattern often increases in frequency and severity.  The abuse can be physical, verbal, sexual, emotional, or economical.

Domestic Violence does not discriminate.  A victim can be of any age, race, class, culture, religion, occupation, or sexual preference.

If you have experienced this by a person who you date(d) or live(d) with, you may be a victim of domestic violence.

·         Domestic Violence is the #l health risk for women in the U.S.

·         Domestic Violence affects individuals from all races, religions, nationalities, and socio-economic levels.

·         Domestic Violence is frequently passed from one generation to the next.

·         Domestic Violence is likely to continue and escalate without professional intervention.

·         Call the Domestic Violence Hotline:  1-800-572-7233

This guy goes to a costume party

with a girl on his back.

"What the heck are you?" asks the host.

"I'm a snail" says the guy.

"But... you have a girl on your back"

replies the host.

"Yeah," he says, "that's Michelle!"
